Jobs & Carrières Infos : What is involved in your function?
Jennifer Trimmer
: My primary role is to recruit external candidates for Phone Channel (Telephone Banking), Business Visa and various other businesses within TD Canada Trust. I take each candidate through the steps of the recruitment process, from making the initial contact to welcoming the new employee on their first day!
J&C Infos: Why does your company attend to the Bilingual Job Fair?
J.T.:
The Bilingual Link Job Fair is a great opportunity for us to meet directly with candidates who are interested in working for TD Canada Trust. We can learn more of the candidate’s qualifications, provide more information about current opportunities and share our own personal experiences on working with TD.
J&C Infos: Which kind of personnel do you recruit and for what type of positions?
J.T.
: The primary role that we will be focusing on for the Bilingual Link 2010 Spring Job Fair is the Phone Channel Bilingual Easyline Specialist. Bilingual Easyline Specialists provide exceptional customer service to our incoming call centre clients. In addition to conducting day to day banking transactions, Bilingual Easyline Specialists also offer advice to our clients on a full range of products and services to meet their needs.
J&C Infos: Do you easily meet the candidates that you're looking for?
J.T.
: We connect with candidates from a number of different sources, whether it is at a Job Fair, through an existing employee, external source or from our

website. We have met many fantastic candidates that have had great communication skills in English and French and deliver great customer service in the Toronto area!
J&C Infos: How many positions do you have available per year (approximately)?
J.T.:
We have ongoing recruitment for Bilingual positions in several areas of TD Canada Trust. We encourage candidates to visit

and have an active profile. Once an active profile has been created, candidates can apply directly to positions of interest and create ‘job alerts’ to be notified for when positions of interest are available.
J&C Infos: How many candidates do you recruit per year (approximately)?
J.T.:
With the Bilingual Easyline Specialist position, for example, we have an ongoing recruitment and have start dates almost every month. Many of our existing Bilingual Easyline Specialists progress to different roles within the company so we are consistently recruiting for the position.
J&C Infos: What kind of challenges do you face when recruiting?
J.T.:
I think there sometimes is a misconception that a candidate needs to have a financial background in order to obtain a job at TD Canada Trust. We recruit for many positions that do not require an educational or work background in financial services – candidates with a passion for helping customers come from many different areas!
